Arizona’s spring season, especially after all the rain we had this past winter, has proven to be a haven for photographers. The abundance of bright colors from the various blooms of native plants, against the backdrop of the southwestern desert landscape is none like any other. So when I get a chance to shoot outdoors with my clients during this time of year, I take it! The lovely thing about desert landscaping for photography, is that the client beholds the picture, as you will see in this shoot with Cheyanne.
Cheyanne and her family sought me out in search of Prom and Senior/Graduate portraits, to create the perfect photographic memories to highlight this major milestone. Cheyanne is currently a Senior at Betty Fairfax High School in Laveen, whom will graduate this year–in less than a couple of months, matter of fact! Cheyanne has plans to attend Arizona State University in the Fall and will declare a Major in Business Administration. When she was six years old, she started studying Martial Arts, with her focus being Taekwondo. She persevered to gain her first black belt at the tender age of fourteen! Cheyanne told me that her favorite weapon is the Kama–they look similar to a farming scythe that used to be used by Filipino and Japanese farmers for reaping crops. Don’t worry, they are purposefully made dull for martial art demonstration purposes, also known as kata kai. Cheyanne has some other big dreams after graduation that consist of teaching her art to beginners of all ages. She aspires to become a business owner of her own Martial Art school. Cheyanne’s other hobbies include marching band and soccer.
Watch out world, because Cheyanne means business! We are very thankful to be a part of capturing her journey into adulthood and look forward to hearing her updates on her new adventures in college and the plans of her Martial Arts school!
